1)A rope of length 10 metre has been divided into 8 pieces of the same length. What is the length of each piece?

2)In order to make a shirt a length of 2 metre 75 cm cloth is needed. How much length of cloth will be required for 16 such shirts?

Please answer I need it quickly. I will check with my answer.

Dear Student,

Solution 1: Given, length of the rope = 10m
We have to divide the entire rope into 8 pieces of the same length.
Thus, the length of each piece = Length of the ropeNo. of pieces          = 108 = 1.25 m.

Solution 2: We know that 1m = 100cm
Now, the length of the cloth required to make one shirt = 2m 75cm = 2.75m
Length of the cloth required to make 16 such shirts = 2.75m x 16 = 44m
∴ The length of the cloth required to make 16 shirts will be 44m
