a. The Great Himalayas are basically the young fold mountains that have come into existence because of convection currents and compressional forces. The mountains are the highest mountain ranges of the World.
b. These mountain ranges are parallel and consist of three parallel ranges namely Himadri,Himachal or lesser Himalayas and the Shiwaliks. 
c. Highest peaks are located in the Himadri range,
d. In the Himachal range, important hill stations are located .
e. Shiwalik is the lower most range and have an altitude of 900 to 1100 metres.
