1. In which medium speed of sound is maximum an din which minimum ?

2. A pendulum makes 16 oscillations in 2 seconds . What is the frequency of the pendulum ?

1) In steels the speed is maximum. It is about 6000 m/s. The speed of sound is minimum in air. It is about 340 m/s.

2) It is given that the pendulum oscillates 16 times in 2 seconds.

Frequency = No. of oscillations / Total time taken

= 16 / 2 = 8 Hz.

If you feel I answered correctly plz....thumbs up.

i think the sound of speed is maximum in solids . the speed of sound is minimum inm in gases.

but pls verify.because i am not sure .thanks...

maximum in solids and minimum in gases or air......

2) frequency = number of oscillation/ time taken = 16/2 = 8Hz  (Hz = hertz since frequency is measured in hertz)

The speed of sound is maximum through diamond and minimum through air.  The frequency of a pendulum making 16 oscillations in 2 seconds is 16/2 = 8Hz.

the speed of sound is maximum through the solid because in solid the molecules are placed close to each other and the speed of sound is minimum in air as its molecules are not together.

hope it helps!!!!!!
