1) The base angle of an isosceles triangle is 55 degree. The size of the vertical angle is

(a) 55 degree (b) 35 degree (c) 70 degree (d) 125 degree

Can anyone please give an explanation for this answer and what is vertical angle....

2) A ladder 25m long reaches a window of a building 20m above the ground.Detemine the distance of the foot of the ladder from the building.

(1). We know that in an isosceles triangle, base angles are of equal measurement.
so each base angle = 550
sum of both base angles = 55+ 55= 1100
sum of 3 angles = sum of base angles + vertical angle
so, 180= 110+ vertical angle
so, vertical angle = 70

(2).
