1)what is the size of our heart?
2)why human heart has different chambers?

Dear Student

Ans 1.
Heart is a pumping organ that beats continuously and pumps oxygen-rich blood to all parts of the body and carbon dioxide-rich blood to the lungs. It is located in the chest cavity and is approximately the size of your fist.

In case of babies, when they are born, their heart size is almost equal to their fist. As the body develops, size of heart also grow in size.

Ans 2.
Four-chambered heart in human being contains two auricles (left and right) and two ventricles (left and right). The left part of the heart contains oxygenated blood and the right part of the heart contains deoxygenated blood. Thus blood passes two times in one complete circuit: one with oxygenated blood and another with deoxygenated blood. This is called as double circulation. Double circulation system prevents mixing of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood with each other. Mammals (including humans) are warm blooded. This warm body temperature helps to carry out body processes more efficiently. Maintaining the constant temperature inside the body requires huge amount of energy. Without double circulation system human would not be able to receive enough oxygen to produce adequate energy.

1) The size of the heart is a little larger than the size of your fist.
2)The four chambered heart is an efficient design that allows to send dirty blood to the the lungs and clean blood to the rest of the body without having to mix the two.
