7. High fatty acids are breaking by
(a) β -oxidation
(b) α -oxidation
(c) Glycolysis
(d) All of these

Dear student.

The answer is (a) β-oxidation.

Higher fatty acids refers to the fatty acids with high molecular weight. For example oleic acid (C 17 H 33 COOH), stearic acid (C 17 H 35 COOH), palimitic acid (C 15 H 31 COOH).
β-oxidation forms acetyl CoA, which can enter different other cycles such as Kreb's cycle.
