A circular coil of radius 5 cm is placed in uniform magnetic field of 0.07 T, so that the direction of magnetic field is normal, to the plane of the coil. If an emf of 1.1 V is induced in it as a result of its rotation through 180 deg. in 0.14 seconds, the no. of turns in the coil is..

(a) 70
(b) 80
(c) 140
(d) 160

Dear Student
Kindly find the answer of your asked query.

emf induced in the coil is given by:e= -dϕdte=-NBAcosθtN= -etBAcosθ=-1.1×0.140.07×π×5×10-22 cos180280 N is the no. of turns

Hope this information will clear your doubt about magnetism.

Hi Aryaman, just use the formula e = 2 N B A / t
To get N rearranging we have N = e * t / 2 B A
Plugging we get N = 1.1 * 0.14 / 2 (0.07)(pi *0.0025) = 140
Hence option c is the correct one
