A  dupatta 3.5cm long and 1.25m wide has a silk border 2.5cm broad along its length on either side.THe border is 4cm along the width on one end and 20cm wide on the other end.Find the area of the silk border.

Think of four compartments
125 cm length and (4 + 20) cm wide on width side. So area A₁ = 125 * 24 = 3000 cm²
​(350 - 24) length and (2.5+2.5) wide on length side So area A₂ = 326 * 5 = 1630 cm²​ 
Total area of silk border = 4630 cm²
