a fruit seller bought 600 bananas at rs 16 a dozen. he sold 200 of them at 4 for rs 5 and the remaining at 2 for rs 3. find his gain or loss per cent

Total no. of bananas - 600
cost he baught them for - Rs 16 per dozen
Cost of 1 banana - 12 / 16 = 0.75
Total money spent - 0.75 x 600 = Rs450

Cost of 1 banana if 4 are sold for Rs 5 - 4/5 = 0.8
Money earned for selling 200 bananas 4 for Rs 5 -  0.8 x 200
                                                                               = 160
Cost of 1 banana if 2 are sold for Rs 3 - 3/2 = 1.5
Money earned for selling remaining 400 bananas 2 for Rs 3 - 1.5 x 400
                                                                                               = Rs 600
