a polynomial of degree 5 is divided by a quadratic polynomial. if it leaves a remainder , then find the degree of remainder..

 I think the remainder degree would be three i.e. it woul be a cubic polynomial.

 Well yes the remainder will be 0 or 1 because since the divisor has a degree of 2, i.e. it is quadratic then obviously the remainder cannot be of greater than power of 1. If it becomes 2 then certainly divisor will divide it to reduce it to a lower degree.

So this type of question can be solved by observing the value of Divisor. If divisor was cubic then the remainder may have degree of 0,1 or 2.
