A river 2m deep and 45m wide is flowing at the rate of 3 km/h.Find the amount of water that runs into the sea per minute.

Given that: Rate of water flow = 3km/h= (3000/60) m/min =50 m/min

Depth (h) of river = 2 m

Width (b) of river = 45 m

Volume of water flowed in 1 min = Rate of water flow * depth of river * width of river = 50*2*45 = 4500 m3

Hence, in 1 minute, 4500 m3 water will fall in the sea.

sorry there is a silly mistake in first line = 3000/60 = 300/6 = 50 m/min

3 km/hr = 3000m/hr = 3000/60 = 50 m/minute

Breadth = 45 m

Length = 50m

Height = 2m

Amount Of Water = Volume

Volume = Length*Breadth*Height

=>45*50*2

=> 90*50

=> 4500 m3
