a road roller has length 2m and radius 77cm. find the number of revolutins required by roller to cover the area of 96.8 m2

height = 2 m = 200 cm and r = 77 cm....

for no. of revolutions we need to find curved surface area of cylinder. i. e . 2 r h as the only curved surface area of cylinder comes in contact with road...

curved surface area of cylinder. i. e . 2 r h = 2 * 22 / 7 * 77 * 200 = 96800 cm2.........(1)

now 1 m 2 = 10000cm2

so 96.8 m 2 = 96 . 8 * 10000 = 968000 cm 2 ............(2)

so now division ....... (2) / (1) = 968000 / 96800 = 10 revolutions
