A rope is of length 7.37 meters if 2.78 meters is cut from it, how much rope is left?is this rope sufficient to tie a cloth line between two hooks which are 6 metres a part? if not how much more is required?

Dear student,

Length of the rope = 7.37 m
Length of the rope cut = 2.78 m
Length of the rope left = 7.37 - 2.78
                                    = 4.59 m

Distance between two hooks = 6 m
As we have rope of length 4.59 m , it is not sufficient to tie a cloth line between two hooks which are 6 m apart.

Length of the rope required more to tie a cloth line = 6 - 4.59
                                                                                 = 1.41 m

Hence 1.41 m more rope is required.
