A saturated solution of sugar in water is prepared. The temperature of water is lowered by 5 degree. will the solution continue to be saturated ? Give reasons.

The sugar soln. now will become a super-saturated soln.

This is because when we lower the temperature of a liquid soln. the capacity of the liquid to dissolve the solute decreases as the intermolecukar space of the liquid decreases.

If a saturated solution of a sugar in water is prepared. The temperature is lowered by 5 degree celsius then it will not remain the same, the sugar will get crystallized on decteasing the temperature.
