A survey found that the ages of 250 workers in a factory is distributed as follows: ages( in yrs): 20-29 , 30-39 , 40-49 , 50-59 , 60 and above. No of workers: 50 , 35 , 95 , 55 , 15.  IF the person is selected at random find the probability that the person is : (i) 40 yrs or more (ii) having age from 30 to 39 yrs (ii) under 60 but over 39 yrs.

** Total people = 250
(i)
P(E) of getting person more than 40 yrs old = Total person above 40 age / Total people
Total people above age 40 yrs = 95 + 55 + 15
                                               = 165
P(E) = 165 / 250 =  33/50 = 0.66

(ii)
P(E) of getting a person between age 30-39 yrs = Person of age 30-39 yr / Total people
Person with age 30-39 yrs = 35
P(E) = 35 / 250 = 7/50 = 0.14

(iii)
P(E) of getting a person above 39 yrs and under 60 yrs =
People under age group 40-49 + People under age group 50-59 / Total People
Person above 39 yrs and under 60 yrs = People under age group 40-49 + People under age group 50-59
                                                            = 95 + 55 = 150
P(E) = 150/250 = 3/5 = 0.6
