A train 335 m in length crosses a man standing on a platform , in 20 secs Find the speed of the train. How long will it take to pass a platform of length 201m

Dear Student,

Please find below the solution to the asked query:

Given : A train 335 m long crosses a man standing on platform in 20 seconds . So,

Distance =  335 m and Time  =  20 sec

We know :  Speed  = DistanceTime , Then

Speed of train  = 33520 = 16.75 m / sec

Also given :  train to cross a platform 201 m long , So total distance train has to cover  =  201 + 335 =  536 m

Therefore,

 The time taken by the train to cross a platform 201 m long  = 53630 = 1345 = 26.8 Sec                                            ( Ans )

speed of train = distance ÷ time
speed = 335 ÷ 20 = 16.75 m/s
time taken to cross 201 m long platform = 201 ÷ 16.75 = 13 seconds
