Al(OH)3 is a Acid or Base?
Dear student,
Aluminium hydroxide is amphoteric in nature that is, it has both acidic and basic properties.
It reacts with acid as,
3 HCl + Al(OH)3 → AlCl3 + 3 H2O
It reacts with base as,
Al(OH)3 + OH− → Al(OH)4−
Regards
