an angle is double than its complement.what is its measure?explain.

Let the required angle = x0

then measure of its complement = ( 90 - x )0

according to the given condition,

 x = 2 ( 90 - x )

 ⇒ x = 180 - 2x

 ⇒ x + 2x = 180

 ⇒ 3x = 180 ⇒ x = 60

so, the measure of required angle  = 600

When the sum of two adjacent angles equal to 90o then the angles are known as Complementary Angles.

So let us assume on of the angle is A, then the other angle is 2A.

So equation we get = A + 2A = 90

3A = 90

A = 90/3

A = 30o and the other angle is 2 x 30 = 60o.

Ans. 60 & 30 Degrees.
