An ant is moving around a book, as shown in the given figure. It travels around the book once in every five minutes.

What is the ant’s average speed?

14 cm per Minutes

 Perimeter of the book = 70cm

speed = distance / time

           70cm/5min=14 cm per minute.

One round of the book takes 5 mins.....

Perimeter of the book =2 x {length + breadth}

                                 = 2 x {20 cm + 15 cm }

                                 = 2 x 35 cm

                               =  70 cm

        speed =  Distance / time

      speed = 70/5

               =  14 cm

     The average speed of the ant is 14 cm/min

                   hoe this helps you.........!!!!!!!!

 First of all we will take out the perimeter.we w know that book is rectangle so perimeter of the rectangle=2(l+b)

=2(15+20)

= 70cm.average speed=distance/time =70/5=13cm/min
