An artist is designing a pattern of triangular tiles to cover a wall. Each section of the pattern is identical to the section shown here. If the wall is 576 cm long and 384 cm high, how many black tiles will the artist need to use on the wall ?

Answer :

We know dimension of wall As :  576 cm long and 384 cm high

SO, Area of that surface of the wall =  576 $\times$  384  = 221184  cm² 
As given pattern
 
And area of pattern  = 24 $\times$  16   = 384  cm² 
So,
Total number of pattern used to cover this wall  = $\frac{221184}{384}$    =  576

And we can see that in each pattern there are 3 black tiles , So total numbers of tiles used  = 576 $\times$ 3  = 1728         ( Ans )
