an electric pole is 12m high . a steel wire is tied to the top of the pole is affixed at a point on the ground to the pole upright . if the wire makes an angle of 600 with the horizontal through the foot of the poles . find the length of the wire.

Dear Student,

Please find below the solution to the asked query:

We form our diagram from given information , As :

Here ,

Height of pole  = BC  =  12 m  , Length of wire =  AC  =  x  m

We know :  Sin θ = OppositeHypotenuse , So

Sin 60° = BCAC32 = 12x                                     ( We know Sin 60° = 32 ) x = 12 ×23x =243x =8 × 33x =8 × 3× 33x =8 × 3x =8 × 1.732x =13.85613.86 m
Therefore,

Length of wire  =  13.86 m                                                            ( Ans )

angle =60•
P=12
H=?
P÷H= sin60
12÷H=√3÷2
H=24÷√3
know rationalize it
24÷√3×√3÷√3
=8√3 m
