An EM wave has amplitude of electric field Eo and amplitude of magnetic field is Bo. The electric field at some instant becomes 3/4 Eo. What will be the magnetic field at this instant. (Wave is travelling in vacuum.)

The  electric and  magnetic  field  in a plane  electromagnetic  wave  are  given  by .
                       E = Eo  sin w  (t - xc )  ...............(1)and  B = Bo   sin w  (t - xc ) .............(2)
According  to given  problem   E= 34 Eo
                         34 Eo  = Eo  sin w  (t -xc )        [   using eq  (1)     ]        sin w  (t -xc ) = 34 B = Bo × 34       B = 3  Bo 4         [   using eq  (2)     ]  34 Eo  = Eo  sin w  (t -xc )        [   using eq  (1)     ]        sin w  (t -xc ) = 34 B = Bo × 34       B = 3  Bo 4         [   using eq  (2)     ]

Bo= Eo/c where c is spd of light .
now substituting Eo as 3/4Eo and c as 3 10^8, we solve for Bo.

hence Bo= 3Eo/4c
since c= 310^8
we get, Bo = 3Eo /410^-8
