(b) What is the initial position and the velocity of the object?

the displacement is given as

x = 30 + 20t2

 

now, 

the velocity will be

v = dx/dt = d/dt(30 + 20t2)

or

v = 40t m/s

 

the acceleration will be

a = dv/dt = d/dt(40t)

or

a = 40 m/s2

 

now, the initial position will be when t = 0

so, in this case x0 = 30 m

the initial velocity u = dx0/dt = 0
