are dry cell and electric cells same?? if not what is the difference ?

An electric cell can refer to any sort of battery. "Dry cell" was a term used to describe the older zinc-carbon batteries using ammonium chloride paste as the electrolyte, as opposed to the Leclanché cell which used a liquid solution of ammonium chloride.
