No, humans and animals are not parasites on plants because they don't live on plants or in the plants for nutrition. By definition a parasite is an organism which lives on or inside other organism for its nutritional purpose or for shelter . We utilise plant products for nutritional and edible purposes. Humans and other animals are heterotrophs which depend on plants for their food by consuming plant products.

We are not parasites. We are a part of holozoic nutrition. Holozoic nutrition is a part of the heterotrophic nutrition in which food is taken as a whole in complex and insoluble form and is digested inside the body.
