as the positive charges are haevier shouldnt they be accumulated in lower clouds
also please make me understand why doees ground gets charged positively

Understand the process of cloud formation which is still to be explored in detail.
Process 1:
Clouds are formed due to the evaporation of water. Charging of clouds is due to the concept of polarisation. It is the process in which positive and negative charges gets isolated. When a new water particle gets evaporated and rises towards the cloud, it collides with the already existing clouds. During this collision, electrons are ripped out of the rising particle and positively charged evaporated water droplet rises to mingle with already present cluster of clouds.

Process 2:
When groups of water droplets evaporates and form clusters, they rise up. As the temperature is less at higher altitudes, during its upward rise, they become more tight, causing dense central region with negative charges and positive charges at its periphery. As it rises up, collision between these rising droplets take place due to air currents causing the peripheral positive charges to get detached an move upward.

Hence there is accumulated positive charge at the top and negative charge at the bottom of the cloud.
[Note: Gravity is not the only factor which affects the motion of objects. There are so many factors such as, air current, atmospheric pressure, convectional currents, relative humidity etc..]

Earth gaining positive charge:
This process is called as induction. Whenever an object having high charge is kept closer to another conductor, an opposite charge is developed at the surface of the second object facing the charged body due to the fact that opposite charges attract each other.
