Atul throws a stone upward. After reaching a certain height, the stone falls back on the ground. (Neglect air resistance)

Which of the following velocity-time graphs represents the motion of the stone?

  • A)

  • B)

  • C)

  • D)

33.93% got it right! You say that b is correct answer but how it is possible that a stone is in any velocity before it is thrown. And why we not taken the velocity of the stone as inthe rest when it is thrown i understand that a stone is thrown in the pward direction it velocity decreases and 0 at a time then it is comming backward to me by gravitational force as its veocity increases with time.

At time t = 0, Atul gave some initial velocity, v to project the ball.
This is the velocity which is required to project the ball in upward direction.
