calculate the mass of Potassium Chloride required to prepare its 40% solution in 100 gram of water

Dear  student,
Mass of the solute = 40 gm and mass of solvent = 100 -40 = 60 gm 
 Now . In 60 gm of water amount of solute = 40 gm
     Then in 100 gm of water amount of solute = ( 40 / 60 ) x 100 =  66.67 gm
