Chooses the odd one out myopia hyperopia xerophthalmia astigmatism

Dear Student

Myopia is the defect of the eye because of which distant objects cannot be seen clearly. Image is formed in front of the retina. It is also called Nearsightedness.

Xerophthalmia is a condition of serious drying of the eye surface which is due to the malfunctioning of the lacrimal (tear) glands.

Astigmatism is an eye condition with blurred vision as its main symptom. The front surface of the eye (cornea) of a person with astigmatism is not curved properly - the curve is irregular - usually one half is flatter than the other - sometimes one area is steeper than it should be.

Hyperopia is also known as farsightedness. It is a refractive error. The eye does not bend or refract light properly to a single focus to see images clearly. In hyperopia, distant objects look somewhat clear, but close objects appear more blurred.

Odd one is Xerophthalmia.
