Compare and Contrast between the two poems ‘Dust of Snow and Fire and Ice’

Both the poems deal with elements from nature, in order to bring out the main theme and message. In the poem 'Fire and Ice' the poet uses the picture of fire and ice to show how the world will come to an end. Here both the extreme elements are used to show the common idea of the end of the world. In the same way, in the poem 'Dust of Snow', the hemlock, though a symbol of negativity, is used to bring out hope. Thus, it is reminder of how everything has two sides to it - both good and bad. Therefore, both the poems use elements to show two different aspects and ideology of life.
