Cpct is the correct answer but why can’t alternate interior angles also be the reason for the answer. Please explain

Dear Student,

It is not mentioned that AC || BD. Hence, we cannot conclude that C and D being alternate interior angles are equal. So, we first need to prove that AOCBODThen by CPCT we can say that C = DSolution:In AOC and BODAO = BO {Since CD bisects AB}AOC = BOD {Vertically opposite angles}CO = DO {Since AB bisects CD}Therefore, AOC  BOD (By SAS congruence criterion)Hence, OCA = ODC or C = D {By CPCT}
