Critical appreciation of the poem "A Legend of The Northland"

Solution
The poem "A Legend of the Northland" is a critical commentary on human greed and its consequences. God has distributed wealth disproportionately in the world. However, he expects the 'haves' to extend help to the people who struggle to meet their daily needs. Unfortunately, not every human being possesses the necessary generosity to help others. Despite, having enough they are reluctant to help others. Even in the odd circumstances they help, they part with their belongings reluctantly. The primary reason for this is greed. They desire to own more while holding on to what they have. In the poem ' A legend of the Northland', each time the old lady baked a cake for St. Peter she found it too big. Therefore, she did not give it to him. At last, she made a wafer-thin sized cake. Yet, she was reluctant to give it to St. Peter.
