# DEFINE WATER PERCOLATION RATE ???

Water percolation rate of the soil refers to the rate of the movement of water through the soil as it passes through the small holes or spaces between the particles of the soil

• 10

water percolation rate is the time taken by the soil to absorb water. the formula to calculate the percolation rate is:

volume of water(mL)divided by time taken(m)

Hi. Percolate means filter or ooze gradually, especially through a porous surface. Here percolation means passage of water from the surface into the soil.

Formula for percolation rate:-

Rate of percolation = Amount of water(in ml)

____________________

Percolation time(in mins)

for eg.

Ammount of water = 500 ml

Time of perculation = 50 mins.

Rate of perculation = 500 ml

______

50 mins.

= 10 ml/ min.

Hope my anser helps :) . Cheers!!!

it is the time taken for water to pass through soil......i hope i could help you:-)

percolation rate of water is different in different types of soil . it is the highest in the sandy soil and least in the clayey soil. to calculate the percolation rate use this formula-

percolation rate (ml/min)amount of water(ml)/percolation time

percolation refers to the ability of the soil to absorb water or liquids

Percolation of soil is the infiltration of it, which is important because it determines if water placed on soil will either soak through or cause runoff or even worse erosion.

Percolation rate is the rate at which water moves through the soil.

The soil will pass rapidly through well drained soil whereas the water will be collected on the soil with poor percolation rate which can be harmful to the plants.

The percolation rate is highest in sandy soil and least in clayey soil.

to know the percolation rate the formulae is :    given time/amount of water

so,this is called soil percolation

Percolation rate is the gradual movement and filtering of water through the spaces or pores in the soil usually expressed as inches per hour or inches per day. A soil with a g…reater percolation rate can usually absorb more water.

Dear friend,
In physics, chemistry and materials science, percolation refers to the movement and filtering of fluids through porous materials. It is described by Darcy's law. Broader applications have since been developed that cover connectivity of many systems modeled as lattices or graphs, analogous to connectivity of lattice components in the filtration problem that modulates capacity for percolation.
Good luck.
