Define with spring mid winter varities?

Dear Student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query:

In certain plants flowering either quantitatively or qualitatively depends on exposure to low temperature, this phenomenon is known as vernalization

For e.g. The spring variety of wheat, normally planted in spring, flower and produce grain before the end of the growing season. But the winter varieties if planted in spring will fail to flower and produce grain before end of the growing season.
Therefore the winter varieties are planted in autumn. They germinate and form small seedlings during winter, resume growth in spring and are harvested in mid-summer.
