Difference between epigynous and hypogonus

Dear student,
The terms epigynous and hypogynous relate to the position of the ovary with respect to the receptacles in flowers.
Epigynous flower means the flower has an inferior ovary, i.e. the ovary is completely buried within the receptacle. E.g. daffodil.
Hypogynous flower means the flower has a superior ovary, i.e. the ovary is attached directly to the receptacle like the other floral parts.
E.g. snapdragon.
