Differentiate between the cell wall structures of eubacteria and archaebacteria with diagram in detail

Dear student,

Differences between the cell wall structure of eubacteria and archaebacteria -
1)  The cell wall of eubacteria consists of peptidoglycan layer while cell wall of archaebacteria is lacking it except in some methanogens which have a pseudopeptidoglycan layer.
2) The S-layer(surface layer) glycoproteins are a characteristic feature of Archaeal cell wall which is not present in eubacteria.
3)  The polysaccharide layer of archaebacteria is formed of β1–3-linked N-acetylglucosamine and L-
talosaminuronic acid while the polysaccharide layer of eubacteria is formed of β 1-4 linked N-acetylglucosamine and N-acetylmuramic acid.
4) Peptide branches of archaebacteria are composed of L-amino acids while that of eubacteria it is D-amino acids.
