We can comment that Torque = F X r(read as F crossed r)
F = mg = weight of the object
Assuming the mass of the scale to be M.
Taking that the mass of the scale is concentrated in the centre of the scale. So, its at the 50 cm mark.
By balancing of the torques, 0.5 x 24 x g = M x 20 x g
So, M = 0.6 kg
