Do precipitation reaction is exothermic in nature?

Dear Student,

Precipitation reactions can be either endothermic and exothermic. It is more than clear that all precipitations are not exothermic in nature.

For example- The reaction of Silver Nitrate with Potassium Chloride leads to the formation of a white precipitate of Silver Chloride along with some amount of heat.

AgNO3(aq) + KCl(aq)  AgCl(s) + KNO3(aq) + Heat
