Do the following two statements mean the same? Justify your answer.
1. People have different developmental goals.
2. People have conflicting developmental goals.

no, i don't think so that the two statements means the same.
people have different developmental goals this means that each and every person have different goals, aspirations and desires. development goals will be different for each and every individual in terms of income, freedom, security, peace etc. for e.g. the development goal for a farmer would be better income, equal distribution of land among farmers etc.
people have conflicting developmental goals this means that what may be development for one may not be development for other. development goals of some people are conflicting with each other. for e.g. industrialists wants to construct more dams to get more electricity but this would submerge the land and disrupt the lives of people who are dispaced such as tribals.
