Does economic equality guarantee social equality?
 

Not necessarily. Even with economic equality, social equality may not be achieved as traditional social hierarchies are not easily dissolved. For example, after the emergence of capitalism, traders and industrialists in Europe achieved economic equality with the aristocrats. But aristocrats still remained at the top of the social hierarchy. It would take a series of revolution in Europe to overturn social inequality.
