Equal length of magnesium ribbon is taken in two test tube test tube A and B.H2SO4 is added to test tube A and H2CO3 in test tube B:
a)Identify the test tube having vigorous reaction
b)Give reason to support your answer
C)Write chemical equations for both the reactions
d)Out of the two acids taken above which one will have lower PH value??? Plz explain all this question in most easy way?? Fast

Dear Student

(a) Test tube A will show a vigorous reaction

(b) As sulphuric acid is a stronger acid than carbonic acid therefore sulphuric acid will reacts vigorously.

In both cases hydrogen gas is evolved. If you bring a match stick at the mouth of test tube then the gas will burn with a pop sound.

(c) Mg + H2SO4 → MgSO4 + H2.

Mg + H2CO3 → MgCO3 + H2.

(d) Out of the acids taken above, acid with lower pH is Sulphuric acid as the concentration of H+ ions released by it is more. And the acid with lower H+ concentration is carbonic acid as it is a week acid and hence will have higher pH.
