Evolution is simply the generation of diversity and the shaping of the diversity by environmental selection. The only progressive trend in evolution seems to be that more and more complex body designs have emerged over time. However, again, it is not as if the older designs are inefficient. So many of the older and simpler designs still survive. eg: one of the simplest life forms – bacteria – inhabit the most inhospitable habitats like hot springs, deep-sea thermal vents and the ice in Antarctica. Thus evolution cant be equated with progress in life conditions.

(i) Evolution is not always equated with progress because evolution simply generates diversity, and this diversity helps in better adaptation and survival.
(ii) Evolution creates complex body designs, but this does not imply that simpler forms are inefficient. For example, bacteria having simple organisation are more capable of surviving in extreme environments than organisms with complex body designs.
(iii) Human beings and chimpanzees have both evolved from a common primate ancestor, but there is no progress associated with the evolution of chimpanzees.
(iv) Human beings should not be considered as the highest evolved species or the climax species. They are only a branch of evolution.
I hope this will work 4 u........

*Evolution is not exactly taking place from lower organisms to higher organisms but it can be related to the fact that higher and complex body forms evolved even when the low and simple forms are still existing. An individual also plays an important role in the evolutionary process. An individual contributes its specific genes into the gene pool of the population during transferring its genetic variations to its offspring.
*These variations are carried on to successive generations by natural selection.
*If these genetic variations get accumulated over a period of time, alter the individuals of the subgroup and later give rise to new species.

In fact, one of the simplest life forms like bacteria ? inhabit the most inhospitable habitats like hot springs, deep-sea thermal vents and the ice in Antarctica.
