Explain Demographic transition models
The demographic transition model has the following components.
1. When the level of development in a country is low, it has both high birth and high death rates. As a result, the rate of population growth is low.
2. At the intermediate stage of development, birth rate remains high. But death rate drops due to improvement in medical facilities. As a result, the rate of population growth increases.
3. At a mature stage of development, birth rate also drops. With both birth and death rates low, the population growth rate falls.
