Explain how the oceans which are salty in the nature are the source of fresh water on the earth

Ocean water contains dissolved salt such as sodium Chloride, other salts, and minerals with some dissolved gases such as Oxygen, and CO2 etc. So, it cannot be used as drinking water directly. The sea water can be made available for drinking on carrying out various processes such as desalination of water i.e removing salt from water by reverse osmosis. Hence sea water can be used but not directly for drinking.

Firstly oceans are not sources of fresh water.

They are salty as rivers carry salts and sediments which turn oceans salty
