a)Calamine lotion is applied on bee stings because bee stings contains acid which is relaesed on our body so to neutralise the effect of acid calamine lotion is applied.

b)Base is added to factory waste because the factory waste contains high amount of acid and if it is allowed to release in water it will kill fishes and other organisms so to neutralise the effect of acid base is added.
