Formation of Alluvial soil
  • Alluvial soils are formed mainly due to silt deposited by Indo-gangetic -Brahmaputra rivers .
  • In the coastal regions Alluvial deposits are formed due to wave actions.
  • Alluvial soil is composed of alluvial deposits by the river when they slowly loose their carrying capacity due to decrease in velocity.
  • When the river slows down it looses its potential to hold its particles and leave the large soil particles.
  • These particles settle down on the river bed and form alluvial soil.
Black soil
 Black soil is formed as a result of Volcanic eruption .When volcano erupts it releases hot lava which gradually cools down and settle to form a black soil.Black soil is also known as regur soil.
