The major steps of Election in india are:

(i) The country is divided into 543 constituencies(Electoral Constituencies)

(ii)Some constituencies are reserved for people who belong to SC(Scheduled Caste),ST(Scheduled Tribes).These are called Reserved Constituencies.

(iv)Nomination of candidates.
