they faced alot of problems and there conditions were miserable as-

the Gomasthas used to beat them and punish them for delays in products/goods

they werent able to bargain the prices

they were tied to loans given by east india company.

they werent allowed to sell the good to anybody else thn the east india company.... 

they were paid vey less too.regime
