Explain what jurisdiction is and its all types in different courts.. Chapter - judiciary

Solution,

Jurisdiction is the practical authority granted to a legal body to administer justice, as defined by the kind of case, and the location of the issue. In federations like the United States, areas of jurisdiction apply to local, state, and federal levels.
There are two types of courts. They are criminal courts and civil courts.

Criminal courts try cases involving crimes such as assault, robbery, murder etc. Such courts have the power to send a person to prison if it is proven that the person has committed the crime.

Civil courts do not deal with criminal matters. They deal with civil cases involving disputes about business, property, money, debt etc. If someone loses a court in a civil court, then that person can be fined but cannot be imprisoned.
