We hear thunder a little after we see flash of lightning because speed of light is more than speed of sound.

Light's speed in air is 3?10^8 m/s^2...while sound speed in air is 332m/s..so light speed is more than sound..so the lightning and thunder takes place simultaneously but we see the lightning at first...then thunderis heard by us
